For Business-minded people

Lego has got to be one of the COOLEST companies that I have ever read about.

I get so excited thinking about their company culture, values, and success.

Lego CEO Jorgen Vig Knudstorp really brought the company back and raised Lego's reputation back.

"Lest I forget Gethsemane,

Lest I forget Thine agony;

Lest I forget Thy love for me,

Lead me to Calvary"

And Can It Be That I Should Gain?

Charles Wesley:

And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Savior’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain—
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

’Tis mystery all: th’Immortal dies:
Who can explore His strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
To sound the depths of love divine.
’Tis mercy all! Let earth adore,
Let angel minds inquire no more.
’Tis mercy all! Let earth adore;
Let angel minds inquire no more.

He left His Father’s throne above
So free, so infinite His grace—
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race:
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!

Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray—
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.

Still the small inward voice I hear,
That whispers all my sins forgiven;
Still the atoning blood is near,
That quenched the wrath of hostile Heaven.
I feel the life His wounds impart;
I feel the Savior in my heart.
I feel the life His wounds impart;
I feel the Savior in my heart.

No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine;
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.

SUCH A NEEDED/REFRESHING SERMON - PTL!!!

The following is a summary of a sermon by Pastor Jon Payne @ Sovereign Grace Church in AZ

Psalm 130

Hide and seek, remember that game?  Do you still play it?
Actually.. you do, but a more sophisticated form of it.

We like to hide and conceal our sin... do you?  Or perhaps you completely ignore your sin?

How is repentance to be experienced for a justified believer?

Repentance is a celebration of mercy.

Why is the psalmist crying out to the LORD in verse 1?  Well, he has realized the depths of his sin (v.3).
(He knows his need)

Imagine him drowning in his sin.  He's in agony, crying out for rescue.
It's like a flood rushing in and he can't get out.
The sins are swirling over his head.. and all he can do is cry out for help.
He is helpless, overwhelmed by the waves of sin...
To whom does he call to?  The only one who can save him...
He calls to the LORD...
(He knows his Rescuer)

but notice the irony..

The sins that are swirling over his head are sins against the very One who could save him.. God Himself.

It's only at the backdrop of knowing God's "right to judge" that we will appreciate His saving grace.
(v.4)  "With You... there is FORGIVENESS!"

The psalmist speaks as though he is surprised to find forgiveness from God.... AGAIN.

When we are in sin, we are drowning... do we realize how bad it is?  Do we realize the depth of our sins?  Do we realize that those sins are an expression of rebellion against God?  They are not some external thing.. They are PERSONAL sins by us!

Yet what happens when we find our Savior?  He frees us from the drowning waves.. and places us on a rock of righteousness.. just like that.  Have you forgotten what it feels like to drowned?

Imagine yourself as a watchmen in the darkness (v.6)

What happens in the darkness?  What thoughts/feelings?
- Vulnerability..
- Eager anticipation for the morning light..
- Powerless to make the sun rise more quickly..
- Great appreciation for the light

What about in the light?  In the light, we forget to appreciate the light.  We forget about how good His grace is.

Now.. look at these verses with the Lens of Christ

As the psalmist cried, so did Jesus.. on the cross.
But we see that Jesus was not saved from his flood.  The waves only got fiercer and more sin was poured onto him.

How do we know that no one can stand against the Lord? (v.3)
Even Jesus could not!

So how can we have enduring confidence in the lovingkindness and redemption of the Lord (v.7)?
---  The Light of the world was plunged into darkness for our sake and was raised victorious... CELEBRATE.

Repentance is a celebration of mercy...

Amen...  Thank You Jesus.
